He had a primal instinct about America's weaknesses and her strengths, and was able to weave all of it into works of fiction that did more than entertain; they informed the reader. His words are classic and remain relevant, especially in these current times.
	The Treasure of the Sierra Madre One of the great ones! A terrific story skillfully interpreted by a remarkable director and an amazing ensemble cast.
	The Crying Game It was so imaginative and it was especially illuminated by the performance of Forest Whitaker.
